Photographing other photographers is the besttttt thing ever. Maggie and Chris' engagement session was just so much fun (and chill). At the end of the session Chris said "wow that just felt like we were having fun and hanging out." That is exactly what I hope it feels like at the end of the session! I just happen to be taking photos while we hang out.
The details that are photographed on your wedding day tell a big story of who you are and who you guys are as a couple. I always send an email the week of a wedding to remind my bride to have all the details ready for me when I arrive. This helps the beginning part of the day go a bit quicker. I send a list of things to have ready for me but I also want you to think of things that will set your wedding apart.
Hannah and Jared's engagement session was one of my favorites. They just couldn't stop laughing the whole time. I had so much fun getting to know them and going all around downtown Indy to their favorite spots. I can't wait for their wedding in September.
Hannah and Brock's wedding at the Hilltop was so much fun. They had a bridal party that was the life of the party. You can tell when you are around Hannah and Brock that they just get each other. They both got each other a record without knowing it. Their love for one another is deep and kind and patient. I was honored to have been there to photograph it all.
I took Danielle and Craig's gender reveal photos a couple of months ago and now we are onto maternity photos. They are so much fun to be around. As you might be able to tell in the photos, it was raining. But they were such troopers and made the most of it. So excited to take their newborn photos in a couple of weeks!
Jada and Steve's wedding was one that I had been looking forward to for a while. I loved meeting them and hanging out with them during the engagement session and I knew their wedding was going to be amazing. It really and truly was. I have shot a lot of weddings but the love these two share is something special. It was obvious to everyone there that they just loved each other so so much.
Chris proposed to Shannon downtown noon the circle in Indianapolis around Christmas. They came out of the theater after seeing the Yultide and walked to the circle to take a "group picture". Shannon was shocked when Chris got down on one knee and proposed. Then all of their friends and family came over to celebrate. It was so much fun!
Light is important. The big misconception when it comes to planning your wedding is that you do not need to think about how the lighting will affect your photos. I know you have probably seen photos that you love of other peoples weddings.
Kendra and Matthew's wedding was one that made me cry. It was unique and honest and just so them. Kendra's sister did the message during the ceremony and killed it. They wrote their own vows that were so poetic I want to hang them in my house. THEY served communion to their guests. It was just so beautiful. Their love was evident but also their deep deep respect for each other. I was so honored to be there to capture it all.
Carli, Doug and I headed to downtown Noblesville for their engagement session. It started to rain as the session started and we decided to just go for it. Carli and Doug are so laid back they didn't let the rain phase them for a second. They are getting married in August in the mountains in Colorado and I just can't wait for it.
Okay so anyone who starts their engagement session asking if we can get margs at the end is instantly my best friend. I had so much fun taking Olivia and Neil's engagement photos around downtown Zionsville. They are so much fun and I love that they wanted to incorporate their favorite things into their session.
Jon and Michelle are some of our dearest friends and I was honored to take their maternity photos. I told Michelle that whenever I take photos of them, they are some of my favorite photos I take. It's so much fun to just hang out and take photos with people that you love. I am so excited to meet baby boy so soon!
Dena emailed me and asked me to photograph her intimate wedding at Traders Point Creamery. I was automatically in. After meeting Dena I was even more excited for her wedding day to arrive. There were about 20 people in attendance, all family, as Dena and Nick said their vows. It was personal, cozy, and perfect. It was a no fluff and to the point ceremony. Their wedding felt like a family dinner. Everyone around close by smiling as they shared their first kiss. I was beyond honored to have been one of the people in attendance that day.
I am obsessed with my clients. Sean and Casie are so fun and honestly, we are going to be best friends by the end of all of this. Baby photos, maternity photos, and wedding photos all within the next year or so. I am so thankful that people trust me to go along with them through the years and capture their precious moments. Sorry that was hella cheesy but I mean it.
Shelia and Nick contacted me to take maternity and newborn photos for them. It was such a blast shooting around a couple different parks in Carmel. They are just so sweet. Isn't Sheila the cutest mom-to-be?! She is due any day now and I am dying to go over and take photos of their new lil baby.
I was so excited to shoot this wedding. Not only was it the most perfect weather day we had had all year, I am just obsessed with Lauren and Andrew. I shot their engagement photos and we met a couple times to go over all things wedding. They are amazing and so was their wedding. The team at Mustard Seed Gardens went above and beyond and I can't say enough good things about them. I was so honored to be there and capture this special day.
Spoiler, I LOVE HoneyBook. It has totally changed how I run my small business. It is the best online business management software that I have found. I use HoneyBook every single day and it helps me stay organized and efficient. I have streamlined my business by using HoneyBook.
Hannah and Brock were a dream to photograph. We went to Holcomb Gardens and basically just hung out for an hour while I took photos of them. They danced and we all laughed. Their wedding is in June and I just can't wait. They are the most chill couple and I had the best time taking their photos.
I've been watching some of my friends become moms. I know being a mom is hard and tiring but so worth it. Something I have been thinking about is how my mom friends don't get to see themselves as moms from an outside perspective. They take photos of their babies throughout the day but how many photos are they actually in? ⠀
I have had this idea of shooting photos in the back of Luke's car for a really long time. I could picture it in my brain. Well I was hanging out with other photographer friends, Kelsey and Kaitlyn, and telling them about this and we just decided to make it happen and set up a styled shoot. I am so thankful for such amazing friends that believe in me and cheer me on. It was so much fun shooting alongside them. Plus Lexi and Jeff are just the cutest.
I have known Gabby since she was a little girl. Our parents have been friends for years and years. I was so honored to be asked to take her senior photos. Gabby is stunning, obviously. Her eyes! She was so much fun to photograph.
This past winter Gabby came and did an internship with me to learn more about photography. It was so much fun getting to hang out with her and get to know her better. She is so creative and has an amazing eye for photography.
